Cairns Group Farm Leaders' met on Monday 31 May in Washington DC. Download the Cairns Group Farm Leaders Agenda.

The meeting was convened despite the fact that there was no Cairns Group Ministerial at the time because the World Farmers' Congress of the International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP) was occurring in Washington.

Mr Alejandro Delfino, President of the Society Rural Argentina, chaired the meeting.

The aim of the meeting was to build relationships and discuss topics of interest.

The meeting included a briefing on the Cairns Group meeting in Costa Rica in February 2004, a discussion on agricultural subsidies (led by David Orden, Senior Research Fellow, Markets, Trade and Institutions Division, International Food Policy Research Institute) and a discussion on market access (led by Andrew Stoeckel, Director, Centre for International Economics, Canberra)
