The Cairns Group Farm Leaders meeting was held in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, from Thursday 17 to Monday 21 of October 2002. The Secretariat of the Cairns Group Farm Leaders worked in conjunction with the Confederation of Bolivian Farmers to stage a focused program of events and seminars that concluded with the release of the Farm Leaders Statement to Ministers.

Cairns Group Farm Leaders Statement to Ministers released on Saturday the 19th of October 2002.

The Cairns Group ministers also hosted a number a distinguished guests at the meeting in Bolivia, including WTO Director - General Supachai Pantichpakdi, US Trade Representative Robert Zoellick, Ugandan Minister for Trade professor Rugumayo and Chinese Permament Representative to the WTO, Ambassador Sun Zhenyu. On day one of the Seminar program, Dr Marcos Jank of the Inter-American Development Bank and Associate Professor at the University of Sao Paulo provided the Cairns Group Leaders with a presentation on Global advocacy to promote agricultural trade reform.
