Background
The Paraguayan Rural Association is a non-profitable association, founded more than one hundred years ago, consisting of cattle breeders and livestock producers, who receive support for the defence of their interests. Provides important services to the associates, including the animal husbandry register service which offers an excellent database on the races bred in the country and assures the information's veracity; offers technical support in respect of economic, financial, social and statistical aspects of this sector and coordinates the procedures for the control of cattle and by-products of animal origin.

The Rural Association communicates information on effective farming methods; supports the formation of rural producers' cooperatives, and promotes livestock rearing. Promotes the creation of experimental stations as well as species selection, pasture, seeds and cattle studies.

The Rural Association stimulates private initiative and free competition. It also defends property rights and seeks for a better remuneration for the producers linked to this sector. Organizes events with local and foreign exhibitors participation, principally the International Expo Fair of cattle breeders, industry, agriculture, commerce and services, annually, in July.
